Our way is peace

Volunteer with Us!

Volunteers are an invaluable source of energy and skills in our organisation. We have an established club of local volunteers which comprises of over 200 youth. They help us implement local projects, take on administrative tasks, and take initiatives to develop their own projects.

International volunteers are always welcome in our community, and we aim to facilitate a work environment where recent graduates and young professionals can get field work experience, develop their skills, take initiatives to help build up the capacity of the organisation and learn a new language and local customs and traditions. For those interested in volunteering the tasks include supporting the other staff with grant writing, reporting, project design, monitoring and evaluation, social media development, photography, online fundraising, marketing, international outreach, and more. We want volunteers to get the most of their experience in Sanski Most, and they will be involved in all aspects of the organisation or will have the opportunity to focus on developing particular skills or taking on certain projects.

As we are a small grassroots organisation, volunteers have the chance to meet and work directly with the beneficiaries of our organisation. The can witness not only the impact on the ground, but also the challenges we face.

Although Sanski Most is a small town, there are opportunities for volunteers to travel and explore, and get involved in local activities. We run an interreligious choir, which volunteers are welcome to join. There is a local cycling/outdoors club which always welcome new members, and a local folk dance group. Zagreb, the Croatian Coast, the Plitvice Lakes, the Una National Park, and Kozara National Park are all within maximum 4 hours drive away, and Sarajevo can be reached by taking one of the two daily buses, the journey taking 5.5 hours.

In the past, our international volunteers have come to work with us through the EVS scheme, they were funded by fellowships and private foundation grants or self funded.

We currently have two vacancies for self-funded volunteers. If interested please read the job description for Grant Writing and Reporting Volunteer and Social Enterprise Development Volunteer.  We also welcome short term volunteers with projects, especially for film/documentary making and other kinds of media. Please get in touch and we will shortly follow-up.

For people interested in the EVS programme, please read the project description here. Please note we currently do not have any EVS vacancies. We will respond to EVS enquiries as soon as we will announce a call for applications. We request potential EVS volunteers to submit a CV and an application form, which will be available here when we will start recruiting. Please note that summer is our busiest period, and we might be unable to respond in due time/outside of the open application period.

Fundraise for Us!

In 2012 we established a partnership with Globalgiving. Through this, we are able to collect online donations from people all over the world. Globalgiving has many tools people can use to donate, and one of them is the option to create a fundraiser. Anyone can set up a fundraiser, and help us reach more donors to support our programmes.

If you need support or wish to get more information about getting involved with this, please do get in touch with us and we can provide you with help and advice.

About Us

Today, the Center for Peacebuilding (CIM) stands on the former frontlines of the war, acting as a bridge between a past that few can currently discuss and a future where open dialogue can rehumanize the enemy and dispel the misinformation that acts as the seeds for hatred.
