Our way is peace

Meet our new volunteer Jack Sapoch!

unnamed-300x300Jack is a soon to be 21 year-old college student coming to us from the United States. He is coming to us fresh from spending the past semester living in Belgrade, Serbia where studied Peace and Conflict in the Balkans and spent his weekends assisting refugees and migrants moving through Serbia on the Balkan route. His studies have sparked an interest in peacebuilding and NGO work and throuhh his time at CIM Jack hopes to develop a better understanding of the everyday dynamics of local, grassroots peacebuilding.

Although born in New Jersey Jack spends most of his time in the US in the beautiful state of Maine where he studies conflict and governance at Bates College. Whenever possible, he loves to be outside in nature with the sun on his skin. He finds that hiking, rock climbing, and writing in his journal as the sun sets to be the best ways to enjoy this.

Jack will be with us in Sanski Most until August helping where he can, learning, and hopefully growing in his capacity and interest to conduct peace work. He speaks a little of our language so if you see him walking around, say hi!

About Us

Today, the Center for Peacebuilding (CIM) stands on the former frontlines of the war, acting as a bridge between a past that few can currently discuss and a future where open dialogue can rehumanize the enemy and dispel the misinformation that acts as the seeds for hatred.
